This is the homepage of the Security of Multi-Area Power Systems (MARS) project.

The MARS project, which is a cooperation between the ETHZ and the EPFL, concerns with security aspects in multi-area systems.

Such multi-area systems arise when multiple individually controlled networks are connected. The participants in such a multi-area system generally profit from increased security and more economically efficient generation. This cooperation is however not without problems, one such being the calculation of system security for the entire system.
